Pillar 01

Teacher Training, Welfare & Professional Development.

A trained teacher changes a thousand futures. We invest in classroom mastery, wellbeing, and leadership — so educators don't just survive the job, they transform it.

Teachers in a professional development workshop
The challenge

Teaching is the most important job we under-invest in.

Across Nigeria, classrooms are full of teachers who care deeply — and exhausted by systems that don't return that care. Professional development is sporadic. Welfare support is rare. Leadership pathways are unclear. Too many talented educators leave the classroom within their first five years.

We exist to flip that script. When we invest in a teacher — their craft, their wellbeing, their growth — we invest in every child they will ever teach.

Workshop with teachers
Our approach

Practice over theory. Cohorts over courses.

Every program we run is built around three commitments: real classroom practice, small accountable cohorts, and follow-up coaching that lasts months — not days.

  • Hands-on workshops led by master teachers
  • Cohorts of 20–30 with weekly check-ins
  • 12-week follow-up coaching after every program
  • Welfare wrap-around for participants in need
  • Free materials, transport stipends, and meals
What's inside

Four programs under one pillar.

Designed to meet teachers where they are — whether you're in year one or year twenty-one.

Termly Teacher Excellence Workshops

Three weekend cohorts a year covering pedagogy, lesson design, classroom management, assessment, and inclusion. 30 teachers per cohort.

Teacher Excellence Fellowship

A 9-month intensive for high-potential educators — stipend, mentorship, leadership training, and a capstone project deployed in their school.

Welfare & Emergency Grants

Modest, fast-disbursing grants for teachers facing medical, housing, or family emergencies — so a crisis doesn't end a career.

Digital Pedagogy & EdTech Training

Practical, low-bandwidth-friendly training to bring digital learning tools into the classroom — without losing what makes great teaching human.

"GEAIF didn't just give us training — they gave us belief. My classroom is alive again, and my pupils are reading two grade levels ahead. The Welfare Grant helped me through my mother's surgery — I'd have lost everything without it."
